Malaysia and other ASEAN members should collectively negotiate with the US on reciprocal tariffs, leveraging ASEAN's combined economic strength of USD 3 trillion and a market of 680 million people. While a nine-month tariff delay is in place, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim advocates for collective bargaining to enhance ASEAN's negotiating power. Bilateral discussions should continue alongside this collective approach to safeguard national economic interests.
