UMNO President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi stated the party isn't seeking the two ministerial positions potentially vacated by PKR members after their election losses. He emphasized respecting PKR's quota and expressed satisfaction with UMNO's current seven ministerial positions. Zahid, also Deputy Prime Minister, said UMNO wouldn't interfere in other parties' affairs, trusting Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to strengthen the unity government. While UMNO wouldn't request the positions, they're open to accepting them if offered. He also congratulated Nurul Izzah Anwar on her election as PKR's Deputy President.
