Despite the heat, a crowd gathered in front of Sogo shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur for the Himpunan Melayu Berdaulat (Sovereign Malay Gathering). Organized by Perkasa, the gathering, which began around 1:30 pm, aimed to show solidarity for Bumiputera rights and Islam. Participants of all ages, dressed in white, chanted takbir. The event highlights concerns regarding Bumiputera rights and the role of Islam in Malaysia.
