IJM Corp has secured approval for the RM1.4 billion New Pantai Highway Extension (NPE Extension) in Kuala Lumpur. The 15km elevated highway, fully funded by IJM, will run from Pantai Dalam to Jalan Istana, connecting with NPE, Besraya, and the upcoming LIKE. Construction is slated to begin in Q3 2024, with operations targeted for 2029. The project aims to alleviate congestion, diverting 40% of traffic from Jalan Bangsar towards the city center and aligning with the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Master Plan 2040. It's also projected to generate RM5.6 billion in economic benefits. The NPE Extension will feature MLFF tolling, CCTV monitoring, smart lighting, and EV chargers.
