Sabah, Malaysia, faces a declining enrollment in engineering programs, hindering the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) Development Plan. Factors include the perceived difficulty of engineering, limited exposure to engineering role models, and a disconnect between curriculum and real-world applications. The Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) Sabah Branch is working to address these challenges and inspire a new generation of engineers by promoting the field and its importance to Sabah's development.
