The Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC) Sabah is pushing for swift re-elections to reinstate effective leadership. Chairman Mohd Airy Arin stressed the urgency of a general council meeting to ratify the election process, allowing MTUC to resume representing workers. A court-appointed special joint committee (JBK) tasked with holding elections by August has yet to do so. Mohd Airy criticized the JBK's protest against the government's refusal to recognize MTUC delegates at the International Labour Organization Conference, highlighting the JBK's lack of mandate. He urged the JBK to focus on conducting re-elections and convening a council meeting for ratification.
