A 47-year-old man drowned in Sungai Kenerong, Kuala Krai, while checking the water depth before swimming with his friends. The incident occurred around 12:30 pm, and his body was found four hours later. Police Superintendent Mazlan Mamat said the victim was swept away by strong currents. A search and rescue operation involving police and fire department personnel recovered the body. The public is advised against swimming in rivers due to strong currents.
