The Kuala Lumpur Football Association (KLFA) received a RM1 million boost from Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim ahead of the 2025/2026 Malaysia League season. Announced at KLFA's Golden Jubilee celebration, the unexpected contribution was praised by Anwar, who also commended the association's focus on grassroots development. He acknowledged the efforts of KLFA patron and Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, and KLFA President Syed Yazid Syed Omar, emphasizing the importance of facilities like training grounds and academies alongside funding. Anwar also launched KL City FC's new logo and jersey.
