Six volcanoes in Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula erupted following a powerful 8.8 magnitude earthquake. Klyuchevskaya Sopka, the region's largest volcano, erupted just hours after the quake. Krasheninnikov erupted for the first time in 600 years, while Shiveluch, Bezymianny, Karymsky, and Avachinsky also showed increased activity.
