Researchers in Yinchuan, China are conducting a comprehensive survey of the Helan Mountain rock carvings, documenting both known and newly discovered carvings. The project, which began in 2020 and is scheduled to continue through 2025, aims to digitally archive and preserve over 20,000 carvings dating back 3,000 to 10,000 years. These carvings depict various aspects of ancient life, including human figures, animals, hunting scenes, and rituals, offering valuable insights into the region's history.
