The Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM) seized 55,572 kg of frozen chicken worth RM833,580 at the Padang Besar ICQS on July 26th. The chicken, found in two lorries, was suspected of violating import regulations and having questionable halal status. Authorities believe the smugglers attempted to evade taxes by falsely declaring the chicken as originating from Thailand. The case is being investigated under the Customs Act 1967.
