A senior police officer, Assistant Superintendent Mohd. Firdaus Mohamad, 40, pleaded not guilty to two counts of bribery amounting to RM13,500. The charges involve accepting free home renovations worth RM9,000 and a RM4,500 down payment for a Kawasaki Versys motorcycle from a contractor. The alleged offenses occurred between January and June 2018 while he was head of the Criminal Investigation Division at the Machang District Police Headquarters. He was granted bail and the case is set for mention on June 23rd.
