Mazda unveiled a sportier EZ-6 Sports Edition in China, developed in collaboration with Changan. Exterior changes are minimal, featuring added black trim and red brake caliper covers. Interior upgrades include black Alcantara seats with red-black stitching, a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, a 50-inch augmented reality head-up display, and a 14-speaker Sony audio system. Powertrain details remain undisclosed, leaving it unclear whether the Sports Edition is based on the BEV (190 kW motor, 480-600 km range) or EREV (1.5-litre engine, 160 kW motor, 1,301 km range) variant. Pricing is also yet to be announced.
