After nearly three months of a total blockade by Israel, five trucks carrying baby food and other essential aid have entered Gaza through the Kerem Shalom crossing. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu linked the resumption of limited aid to pressure from allies concerned about a renewed military offensive. UN humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher called the aid a "drop in the ocean" compared to the immense need, with four more UN trucks expected. He highlighted the risk of theft due to the chaotic situation and urged Israel to open more crossings for consistent aid flow.
