Around 100,000 homes in Johor Baru, Malaysia are experiencing water disruptions due to a main pump failure at the Sungai Johor water treatment plant. The plant's operations were halted late yesterday, affecting 318 million litres per day of water supply. Reprocessing of existing water sources has restored supply to 11,000 accounts. Repairs on the faulty pump are 15% complete and expected to finish by tomorrow morning, followed by phased restoration of water supply. Water tankers have been deployed to critical locations.
