The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) reported the quake's epicenter was located at 3.6 degrees South and 144.8 degrees East, with a depth of 10 kilometers. It occurred 131 kilometers east of Wewak, Papua New Guinea. No tsunami threat was issued for Malaysia.
