Sarawak assemblyman Joseph Chieng proposed a third LPG bottling plant in Tanjung Manis to enhance energy security following a recent shortage in Sibu. The shortage, caused by a landslide halting operations at the Bintulu plant, exposed the vulnerability of relying on only two plants. A Tanjung Manis plant would strategically serve the central region, ensuring resilient supply and mitigating future disruptions.
