Chamber criticises water crisis in Labuan
The Labuan Chinese Chamber of Commerce president, Datuk Wong Kii Yii, criticized the Water Department's slow response to the island's water crisis. Wong's own household experienced a multi-day water outage despite repeated calls for assistance. While praising Labuan Corporation's CEO for promptly dispatching water tankers, Wong urged the Water Department to be more responsive. He also criticized unfinished excavation work following pipe repairs near his home, highlighting safety concerns. Wong called for long-term solutions to Labuan's chronic water issues, arguing that the government's focus on large projects shouldn't overshadow basic needs.
