Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) chairman and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor announced the coalition's readiness for the 17th Sabah state election. GRS has completed training sessions across constituencies, though seat allocation discussions are pending. Hajiji confirmed openness to discussions with Barisan Nasional (BN) regarding potential collaboration, stating that he last met with BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi before Ramadan. Any decisions on collaboration will be made following discussions with the GRS Supreme Council. The Sabah Legislative Assembly will dissolve on November 11, triggering the election.
