The vocational driving license of the bus driver involved in the fatal accident involving Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) students has been suspended. The accident, which occurred on June 9th on the Jeli-Gerik road near Tasik Banding, Perak, killed 15 students and injured 33 others. The Road Transport Department (JPJ) is investigating the bus operator for leasing the operating permit and failing to activate the GPS. The Transport Minister announced the cancellation of all the operator's permits. Preliminary investigations by PUSPAKOM ruled out mechanical failure as the cause of the accident.
