Sarawak's Forest Department (FDS) is developing Jemoreng and Selai Inah protected forests into ecotourism centers. This initiative aims to conserve biodiversity, promote sustainable tourism, and boost community economies. Following a scientific expedition and seminar, Sungai Selai Inah was gazetted as a forest reserve. The area is significant as the only confirmed habitat of the critically endangered Tricolour Langur (red monkey), further emphasizing the importance of its protection.
